Overseas and BACK!

I haven't been writing for a long while, simply due to the reason that I wasn't inspired to write about the average food quality in Perth. I may be wrong on this, but nothing was exciting in Perth that makes me jump off my seats and yell O-M-G!

While my brain got stuck generating genuine thoughts of the food in Perth, I traveled overseas to refresh my passion for food and of course to see the world. And man, did I have a good time, hell yeah! Great time!

Yes, I was in Europe for a couple of months and I was wowed from left to right, top to toe. Seeing all those food produce and their way of life, i've never been this inspired before. While visiting those market, I wish I was staying at a place where I was able to cook, I can't get my hands on all those new ingredients.

Fortunately for Perth, there are a few new places sprung up whilst I was gone. I am impressed with how the food and coffee scene in Perth progressing. So, new post on new restaurants in Perth will be coming up from this blog too.

While we all know not to expect too much of spectacular experience when going to an Asian Restaurant, except for fast and tasty food. It doesn't bother me much if they were not providing top notch service or the tables were sticky, or using chipped crockery, as long as the food is good. Unfortunately ... Self-heating can of latte?

Mom bought something "rather interesting" for me the other day, thought that I might want to try. Yes, a can of self-heating latte! I've heard of self-heating instant noodle bowl from Japan and also self-heating teriyaki chicken but never tried it myself. I'm not sure how popular this self-heating latte is, obviously I've never heard of it as I thought it is way to easy to get a cup of coffee anywhere in the world, be it a good cup of espresso or a rather ordinary cup of filtered coffee or maybe just get a can of nescafe from the vending machinece near you, but you get the caffeine kick whenever you want it anyway. So, on this rather ordinary day, I finally took up the courage and try it! Happy Mid Autumn Festival

It was Mid Autumn Festival/ Mooncake Festival/ Lantern Festival for every Chinese out there. It is also a day to reunite with your family; to chat, eat, drink tea and play lantern under the perfectly round moon. I have lost count on how many Mid Autumn Festival I've missed celebrating with my family. This year was one exception, I got to eat mooncake, drink tea, play lanterns and candles with my family. You'll never feel too old playing lanterns. When we were a lot younger back then, we used to play with candles, making it into a fire stove and started cooking with dried leaves where we picked up at the garden. Well, now that we have all grown up, we don't play with fire anymore, but focus more on decorating the garden with colourful paper lanterns.
