Settler's House, York

We stumbled across this hidden little gem a year ago when we're on our way back to Perth from Beverly for Wildflower trip. Possibly, the best cheesecake I've ever had in WA, there were a few different flavour cheesecake displayed in the fridge. Baileys, Kahlua, Cookies and Cream, Strawberry just to name a few, they seems to just make cheesecake!

But without disappointment, we had the Baileys cheesecake and it was superb, just enough Bailey to taste, leaving a tinge at the back of your tongue, and yet you can still taste the creaminess and velvety from the rich cheese, not to mention, the portion size was huge, it is enough to share between 2.

This year, we were around the area, and we went back just for the cheesecake! Something changed though! They are making less cheesecake now, my beloved Bailey's flavoured cheesecake wasn't on the display fridge anymore, and the cheesecake that are on the display look a bit on the edge.

Nonetheless, we travelled to York just for this cheesecake, we've got to try again!

As you can see from the picture, the biscuit base looks a bit roughly made, perhaps the previous pastry chef left. But the texture of the cheesecake is still as good, even though i'd prefer Bailey's in my cheesecake!

Settler's House tucked behind the main strip in York (a small town 80km east of Perth city), it is also a hotel for you to put up a night there, the interior decor reminds me of Sherlock Holmes with the fire burning at the fire place - cosy!
