Shark Fin Mee Sua Tow, Restaurant Teow Chew Meng
Ever heard of Mee Sua Tow (Chinese longevity fine noodle)? If i am not mistaken, this dish is originated from Bukit Mertajam or perhaps Penang, it's a Teow Chew delicacy. Today they have open up branches around Klang Valley area and also Penang. I went to their PJ branch for lunch yesterday, to try out this new dish.
We ordered their Shark Fin Mee Sua Tow, Oysters Noodles and Octopus to share between 2. If you are thinking eating dish like on a hot day, don't worry, their shop are fully air-conditioned and the place is very clean too. Efficient and friendly service, you don't feel threaten at all eating at this place.
Shark Fin Mee Sua Tow - RM11
The dishes come out quite fast, the Shark Fin Mee Sua Tow looks blant when it first came out, but as we starts stirring the bowl, there are prawns, crab stick and a raw egg hidden at the bottom. According to the owner, it's best serve with a dash of vinegar, just like how would eat on your shark fin soup! The soup is quite nice and healthy, good for sick people too! However, if you like a more strong flavour, you are welcome to eat with freshly cut chilli or their special sambal! After eating it, i felt like i haven't eaten at all, probably it is mee sua, they don't really fill you up, but that's good too, which means i'll more room for other stuff.

Octopus - RM 10
While slurping on the Shark Fin Mee Sua Tow, our second dish come out as well - the freshly blanched octopus, i can still see steam coming out from the octopus, i couldn't resist myself but to eat them straight away without dipping into the sauce. It was really fresh, the octopus was cooked to perfection, i can still taste the flavour from the sea. My dining companion suggested me to dip it into the sauce, the sauce was surprisingly good as well, i can taste a bit of tamarind, lime juice, tasted a bit like your rojak sauce but better! They even sprinkle some chopped toasted peanuts of the left and some chopped roasted garlic + oil on the right, mix it up with the dipping sauce, it tasted really good and refreshing.
Oysters Noodles - RM15
As we are about to finish our Mee Sua Tow, the oysters noodles came out as well, just in time for a clean bowl! The sauce of this dish is slightly darker than the previous one, looks like "loh mee", for a small portion like this, the serve was generous with lots of noodles, chinese mushroom, prawns, fish balls and oysters. The only bad thing about this dish is that the "kan sui mei" of the noodles is a bit strong, i have to eat every spoonful with their special sambal.
The bill came in RM40.95 for 2 people, plus RM1.50 for 2 glasses of herbal tea plus 5% of service tax.
