The Tuck Shop Cafe, Northbridge

Finally, I'm joining the bandwagon in writing about my experience with The Tuck Shop. After getting back from my holiday, they have became the talk of the town on Urbanspoon, and that is saying something! Luckily, it lived up the hype. I wasn't one of those people who love waking up early in the morning and go out for breakfast, I don't believe in paying about $20 per person for an average eggs on toast. Sadly enough, there seems to be a lot of these breaky joint in Perth though! I don't mind paying that kind of money to a place where they put love into their food and perhaps some creativity. And The Tuck Shop has it all. Menu for 28/8 They print their menu everyday and changes the menu almost everyday, that's what I love about them. I've been back twice just to check out the new items and to try other popular items on the menu. They are always pack full of diners and we waited at the door for about 15 minutes for seats on 2 separate occasions. ...

Toast, East Perth

Sunrising  My flight flying into Perth landed early in the morning the other day, because I'm not so much of a morning person, so being able to witness sunrises and to be awake in the morning was one of those "most appreciated moments of my life". That being said, breakfast by the inlet on a beautiful spring morning was even better, double happiness! A Warm day approaching Lonely bird staring at sky We were half an hour early before Toast open its door for some toasting action! That wasn't a big deal at all as it was a pleasure walking along the foreshore of Claisebrooke Cove. It's open!!  The door were opened at 7am sharp, and it didn't take long for its place to be filled up by business suiters, morning cyclist and morning go-getter. Herbies everywhere, needs trimming though!  Crested Menu We got ourselves a table outside because we were the customer to arrive and it was a beautiful day, but the inside looks cosy and full of characte...

Sayers

I have been flying in and out of the country quite a lot lately, when I'm in Asian country, I crave for a simple scramble egg on toast with bacon on side and a perfect cup of flat white; but when I'm back in Perth I crave for a simple stir fry noodle. Sucks to be me! I'm not so much of a brekkie person, simply because I find it hard to kiss goodbye to the warm bed I'm sleeping on. However, when i wake up, no matter what time of the day it is, I would love egg on toast. Kudos to those cafe who does all day breakfast. The other day whilst I'm flying into Perth in the early wee hour, I took this opportunity to try brekkie at Sayers. It was a very cold morning, I wasn't really well dress for the weather, but once the warm sun starts to shine and I start to soak up some fresh air, it's time for some breakfast! It's 7-ish in the morning on a Wednesday and Sayers is already full packed with locals. Everyone seems to be sitting inside, thus we had to w...
